LABOR DAY WEEKEND, 2001 -- MASSACHUSETTS
****************************************************************************

AMC: NE Regional. 27th Annual All-AMC day sponsored by the AMX Club of New England. The longest running local all-AMC show in the world! This show is always the weekend of Labor Day (there's always a Connecticut show the weekend before Labor Day). This is the oldest regional AMC meet anywhere. LOCATION TBA. Classes for stock and modified Rambler, AMC, Performance AMC cars, Jeep, Nash/Hudson, 68-74 Javelin and 68-70 AMX. Stock AMX class has the most stringent judging in the country and has the rare Platinum Class (only one winner so far), Gold level (only 3 so far), Silver and Bronze. Match your car to exacting factory standards. Usually over 100 cars (though not last year) so the push is on to break 100! Free vending for any and all vendors. AMC movies will be shown all day, possible large memorabilia collection available. Also home of the cheapest burgers and dogs around! The show is always held the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. All proceeds of the show go to support Children's Hospital. Videos, coloring books, crayons, etc. are also collected. (Last year we had over 200 videos donated). Dash plaques to the first 100. ****************************************************************************
JULY 25 - 27 2002 -- KENOSHA
****************************************************************************
2002 AMC's Rambling to Kenosha in 2002!

Or Bust!!!

AMC: 100th Anniversary of Thomas B. Jeffrey Co.'s Rambler. This meet is sponsored by the city and county of Kenosha, WI, not by the clubs -- so ALL of the clubs are welcome.

Let's work hard to make this an ALL-AMC-Family Club meet.

AMO -- American Motors Owners Association
AMCRC -- AMC Rambler Club
AMCPC -- AMC Pacer Club
AMCWC -- AMC World Clubs (joint club with CACI, the Classic AMX Club, International)
NCCA -- Nash Car Club of America
MOCNA -- Metropolitan Owners Club

The above clubs have now confirmed this date as their National meet for 2002. 100th anniversary of the first company in the AMC family: Thos. B. Jefferey & Co.'s conversion of a bicycle plant to auto production in Kenosha in 1902.

RAMBLER METROPOLITAN
JEFFERY 58-88 AMC
NASH 55-57 HUDSON
AJAX 70-88 JEEP
NASH HEALY 83-87 ALLIANCE/ENCORE

If you have any suggestions, complaints, offers of help, etc., about the 2002 meet, please contact your club officers by mail, phone or e-mail.

Those of you with contacts in the clubs not already committed (Nash-Healey Car Club, etc) please contact your leaders and convince them to make their NATIONALS (not just one of many regionals!!) in Kenosha in 2002! Let's call this our National Unity Meet!

I think it's way past time for a 1,500 +++ car AMC family meet, don't you? There certainly was room to spare on that field in '98!

2002 AMC'S TO KENOSHA 2002!

There's a caveat to all of this, you know. Studebaker meets are sometimes larger than ours, and S-P produced fewer vehicles than the Kenosha boys -- if we can put aside the hotheadedness and get everyone onto one showfield, it makes it more likely the city of Kenosha and the state of Wisconsin will open their doors for us more in the future. There's no place like home -- it's not like Luchenbach, TX has any stake in preserving AMC history!!

We should aim to get 2002 cars to Kenosha -- because with those kinds of numbers, Kenosha will work harder to 1) find donors for the AMC museum; and 2) put out the welcome mat in another three years or so after 2002 -- hopefully every 3 years thereafter. But we need to make an effort to get ALL of the clubs together there in 2002!
